The Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) of Rotterdam dedicates a major retrospective – the first - to the work of Dutch architect duo who since 1987 have been running “UN Studio” and who over the years have revealed themselves to be amongst the best of their generation.
A selection of key projects are presented in nine pavilions, painted blue on the outside and white on the inside with paintings hung on the walls which show how the architecture of the studio is conceived and offer an overall picture of their work – both built and on paper - from the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam which, built in the nineties, is already an icon in the town to the Möbius House of Het Gooi and the winning project for the competition for the Parodi bridge in Genoa. Also included is a look at projects still on the drawing board such as the tea and coffee set for Alessi, the museum for Mercedes in Stuttgart and the new bridge at Las Palmas in the Canaries.
