Multi+: the all-in-one air conditioning system by Daikin

Multi+ enables cooling, heating and hot water production for the home with only one climate control unit.

With an article published in Art in America magazine in April 1965, titled "A Home is not a house", Reyner Banham, an architecture critic and theorist of megastructures and Pop Art, lays out a radical critique of North American homes: “When your house contains such a complex of piping, flues, ducts, wires, lights, inlets, outlets, ovens, sinks, refuse disposers, hi-fi reverberators, antennae, conduits, freezers, heaters – when it contains so many services that the hardware could stand up by itself without any assistance from the house, why have a house to hold it up?” Banham reports on the poor efficiency of buildings, the great waste of energy, and the resulting production of an "environmental machine." Since the 1960s, the discourse on the climate efficiency of homes has developed considerably, hybridizing "natural" ventilation and cooling systems with increasingly high-performance and innovative equipment. But there is still much to be done and much room for improvement.

Demonstrating this evolutionary line is Daikin's new Multi+, an innovative all-in-one system to cool, heat and produce hot water for the home, thanks to the efficiency of the heat pump.  Daikin's new technology benefits homeowners and at the same time substantially reduces the impact on the planet. Multi+ cools according to class A+++ thus guaranteeing, compared to a class A product, up to 40% reduction. In addition, the new Daikin solution allows maximum comfort even in the coldest months with a significant reduction in energy consumption. Settings are programmable via app, allowing homeowners to plan system operation according to their lifestyle, without compromising energy savings or home comfort. Available with two tank sizes of 90 or 120 liters, Multi+ can be connected to up to three air conditioners, enabling the system to be expanded according to different needs. A wide range of uniquely designed wall-mounted, floor-standing, wall-mounted, cassette, and ducted indoor units are available to suit any environment.
