With its polished and elegant appearance, marble enchanted the Greeks and Romans, who constructed their most important buildings in this stone because of its beauty, but also because of its durability. Due to its ancient history, marble is usually perceived as statuesque and imposing material. However, there are several contemporary authors who emphasise hidden or neglected aspects of the material, which can become modern and light light and above all more and more sustainable.

This is also the approach of the Italian company Franchi Umberto Marmi and Luca Dini, a professional who has been active for over thirty years in the design and planning of custom superyachts. Dini was commissioned by the brand to create a line of marble furniture to expand the product division already dedicated to interiors and inaugurated during the Salone del Mobile 2019, Homedesign.

Salone 2022 was the occasion for the company and designer to present Cubic and Spheric, two new collections that express all the refined contemporaneity of marble. Shapes and proportions, as well as the materials themselves, are enhanced by high-tech processing and exclusive finishes: marble is used in an original and innovative way, from time to time combined with precious woods or in original colour combinations. Dini always aims at lightness, thanks to the application of aluminium or honeycomb structures that allow the marble to be lightened in thickness so that it can also be used on boats where the criterion of lightness necessarily guides both design and creativity.

Seats, sofas, armchairs, high stools, lanterns, coffee tables and other accessories feature modern, clean lines, and find their rightful place in elegant and exclusive interiors or in well-kept exteriors such as gardens and yachts.

Characterised by rigorous shapes, the Cubic collection presents interesting material combinations: here the Carrara marble in its precious varieties is combined with fabrics, woods and metals. In these objects, marble reveals its timeless soul together with all its contemporary character.

The round geometries – symbols of inclusiveness and cosiness – express in the Spheric collection a constant search for balance between body and lightness. The volumes are important and the shapes sinuous. Carrara marble is the protagonist, seducing and offering itself to the eye in all its beauty. Each element in the collection can be customised to suit the needs and taste of those who will experience it.
