Homogeneity and repeatability are the real strengths of the wood dyeing technology, performed by TABU with very high quality standards.
Natural dyed and multi-laminar veneers, industrial inlays, boiserie, three-dimensional surfaces and wooden floors: this is the wide range of products offered by Tabu, a brand born in 1927 in the very heart of Lombardy, which today represents one of the greatest Italian excellence in wood dyeing, and which operates in 60 countries all over the world.
The company is an important reference point for designers and architects working in the most diverse fields: residential, contract, office, retail, naval and automotive industries. The trademark of the decorative surfaces produced by Tabu are homogeneity and repeatability, guaranteed by the dyeing techniques and multi-laminar wood technology, of which the Lombard company is an innovator.
With its collections, Tabu experiences every day the delicate task of relating to the beauty, history, dignity and tradition of wood, a living material deeply linked to the Earth.
Among the collections proposed by Tabu, Radiche and Graffiti re-elaborate in a contemporary manner and with industrial techniques the ancient art of marquetry.
Briar-root is considered to be the precious wood par excellence. Tabu produces four elegant panels in Walnut Burl and Ash Burl, which evoke the luxury of ancient artisan production using contemporary manufacturing techniques: the sheets – available in the 1260x2500 and 1260x3060 mm sizes – are composed of laser-cut dowels and assembled on a non-woven fabric, interpreting the natural design of each species.
From the combination of different woods, such as Oak, Eucalyptus, Frisé Maple, Erable, Birch and Tay, Tabu creates 14 different geometric patterns: the Graffiti collection. Composed solely of dyed natural veneers, the panels are uniform among themselves, and adapt to large compositional designs. This is possible thanks to the use of the latest technology in the world of laser cutting. The compositions can also be personalised at the customer's choice, leaving TABU the task of producing to specification.
With these collections, Tabu has transformed a noble and complex raw material into a unique and sophisticated product that is at the same time easy to use, echoing the noble art of inlay and cabinet-making.
Although invisible in the final product, the innovation of Tabu products also lies in the high sustainability standards of the entire production process. Since 2012, the company has equipped itself with a photovoltaic system that significantly reduces CO2 emissions, while for the supply of raw materials the strict FSC® standards are followed, drawing only from forests managed according to reforestation policies.
In addition, the company has made major investments in water purification plants and air emissions purification systems, with careful observation of current regulations.
