In Hamaren Activity Park in Fyresda, Norway, architecture firm EFFEKT recently completed the construction of a tree walkway. The structure, raised to a height of 15 meters, guides visitors from the pine forest floor, past a lake and up through the treetops to the top of the Klokkarhamaren hill, for a total length of one kilometer.

The platform – made of locally sourced pine wood, chosen to harmonize with its surroundings – was designed with a gentle slope to make it accessible to people of all ages and physical abilities, as well as cyclists, strollers and wheelchairs. Two meters wide for most of its length, the path widens in places with balconies to highlight specific views or provide rest areas, while the pillars are arranged aligning with the natural curves and slopes of the terrain.
Opened in 2017, the Hamaren Activity Park offers visitors, in addition to new wooden architecture, bicycle and nature trails, as well as facilities for activities such as trampolining and climbing. At the end of the trail, EFFEKT has also incorporated a 50-meter diameter circular observation point that offers a panoramic view of the surrounding natural landscape.
