Stockholm-based Stilride is turning its SUS1 electric scooter prototype, first undisclosed in 2022, into a street-ready two-wheeler.
The Stilride 1, as the scooter is now named in its production version, features a distinctive curved and folded origami-like frame.
That’s the number one sustainability advantage of the Stilride. Instead of using carbon-intensive steel weldings, the startup developed a process based on folding and joining single sheets of steel together.
The design doesn’t have the sole advantage of making the scooter more sustainable. It also makes it easier to dismantle and recycle the vehicle at the end of its life. A suspension-adjustable solo seat, a USD fork, and a mono-shock rear suspension complement the frame.
