Standalone frames to create microenvironments for today’s workplace

The new structures by BuzziSpace are designed to provide a visual and acoustic shield for open workspaces through metal and textiles.

Thinking about today’s dynamic work environments, Alain Gilles designed BuzziBracks for the Belgian brand BuzziSpace. These standalone frames are conceived to functionally enclose small habitats in open spaces, and reach a high degree of customisation.

The idea behind the design is to bring comfort to the users of open-plan workspaces, ensuring them focus or relaxation, depending on the function that BuzziBracks features. Different heights, textiles, finishes and spatial configuration can be combined to adapt to every need and can be assembled in clusters.

In this concept, boundaries are softly delineated, rather than partitioned. The curtains’ textile and colour can be chosen among a wide range of acoustic textiles from Kvadrat. Accessories such as worktops and shelving can be added to respond to the spatial needs of each environment.
