The horizon of contemporary architecture gains a new award. We are talking about the Aurea Award, the recognition created by Schüco Pws Italia to promote the best Italian talents and find all the projects that contribute to creating and making the best of the local future by using Schüco’s PVC systems: sustainable, contemporary, and bright buildings geared towards wellness. Carlo Ratti is the President of the panel of judges and the creator of the design of the award that will be given to the winner of the competition next October in Rome. To apply, architects are asked to register on the project’s website: the candidate can upload one or more projects that will be evaluated online by a panel of expert judges and by the community of architects themselves. Sustainability, design, illumination, and innovation are the four parameters that will guide the judges in their voting, which will be expressed on a point scale from six to ten. Finally, the President of the panel of judges will declare the winner out of the three finalists. Paolo Mattozzi, co-CEO of Schüco Pws Italia, declared: “It is a recognition we insisted on for our architect partners’ work. It rewards their forward-looking vision which considers windows and doors a fundamental element of architecture, not only in aesthetic terms but also, and above all, in terms of the building’s performance. For this reason, we wanted our values, such as sustainability, expressed through the expert procedures that make PVC an environmentally sustainable material, and technology, intended as constant research and development in the implementation of cutting-edge products and their minimal design, to be the inspiring elements that shape the concept behind the Award, which represents our awareness of the benefits of a material that represents our future.”
