At Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi, the period residence in the heart of Milan, in the Montenapoleone district, is the exhibition “The Seduction of Beauty. Secret Masterpieces from the 17th and 18th Centuries”. Curated by Antonio D’Amico, the exhibition presents works from the Gastaldi-Rotelli collection, an anthology of around fifty masterpieces that are being shown for the first time to the many visitors. Gilda Gastaldi and Giuseppe Rotelli collect works, led by their refined and elaborate taste and ever true to their idea of beauty, the symbols of which are hidden among objects and figures, an idea of beauty that is not immediately understandable, but which is represented through meticulous genre scenes from Lombardy and Veneto painting, and dedicating space to their beloved “beggars”.
The exhibition will remain open until 12 March 2023, in an exceptional location that aims to present other private collections, thus allowing curious visitors to discover the many other “hidden” masterpieces.
