Training at home during self-isolation is challenging in many ways: you need to get motivated, you miss the guidance of a trainer or you just can’t find the time with all the videocalls filling your smart-working day. While the last issue can’t really be addressed by any device, Yves Béhar’s Form smart mirror could help with the rest. Forme is a tall iPhone-shaped piece of reflecting glass that’s also a screen, complete with a set of speaker, a camera and a microphone, from which you can access a full-on fitness portal. You pick a lesson or a workout, and the interactive virtual instructor will guide you through it. Classes include yoga, interval training, barre, boxing and mindful activities, such as meditation or stretching. Some of the training classes require pulleys and adjustables, which are included with the station and can be stowed away behind the mirror when not in use. If you think Forme would cost a fortune, think again: when it will ship, later this year, the smart mirror will be available through a 149$ monthly subscription.
Yves Béhar’s smart mirror could be the perfect gym for social isolation
Designed by Béhar’s Fuseproject studio, the Forme mirror integrates a small home gym setup and can guide you through fitness classes or video workouts displayed on its surface.
