Ricoh has added the new Theta Z1 to its lineup of 360° cameras. The new product is a flagship model, capable of recording spherical images using 23MP shots and a very accurate stitching algorithm. Ricoh’s Theta Z1 is also a video powerhouse, as it can record 4K videos with support for live streaming. Moreover, it has a 4 microphone for directional recordings and the ability to save RAW files, a first for Ricoh 360-degree cameras. The features of the Theta Z1 come with a price tag of 1000$. It’s a reasonable amount for professionals such as architects, videographers and multimedia content creators, but it might as well scare off the average prosumer to whom the product should appeal in the first place.
Ricoh Theta Z1 is a new prosumer 360-degree camera
It supports RAW photos and 4K 360-degree video, but the high-end features drive the price up.
