Next week, at the Geneva Motor Show, Citroën will unveil its new Ami One concept, a new all-electric car with a rounded cube shape that is meant to be an alternative to public transport and light personal vehicles, such as scooter o bikes. Thanks to its size (only 2.50m in length) the Citroën’s two seater will offer great agility in the city traffic.
The French carmaker’s concept isn’t limited just to an oddly-looking vehicle. Instead, it extends to include a broader digital app-based ecosystem meant to enable a new on-demand consumer experience based on accessibility and flexible availability. The new urban mobility object - as Citroën likes to call it - can be used by anyone, even without a driver’s license, for an amount of time that can range from 5 minutes to 5 years, based on the user’s individual needs. It’s an interesting twist on the future of cars as a service, mixing together car sharing with short time rental and long term all-inclusive lease plans.
