The new flagship store of Molteni&C|Dada, the third international shop of the industrial group, is located in London's Chelsea district, in the museum district, and has been designed by art director Vincent Van Duysen.
The showroom is a 700 square metre space on two levels with five windows overlooking the central district of the British capital. The project preserves the historical characteristics of the building, built in the nineteenth century and featuring imposing arches that connect the interior spaces.
The internal path is marked by the different materiality of the rooms, which Van Duysen enriches with some elements designed specifically for the new flagship store, such as the monumental entrance, the staircase or partitions between the rooms and the winter gardens, brimming with luxuriant plants.
The warm and welcoming space sees the alternation of sophisticated materials such as travertine and walnut wood, with different shades of gray and bone whites. The scenic layout frames and enhances the products of the new collections designed, among others, by: Vincent van Duysen, Rodolfo Dordoni, Ron Gilad, Foster + Partners, Jean Nouvel and Patricia Urquiola.
“A project that succeeds in the search for good living by understanding the architectural making. This leads to feeling at ease in one of the most vibrant cities of the world, London. It is an honour to represent together with Molteni Group the quintessence of Italian design by creating a unique momentum in the city of bankers and creators,” said Belgian designer Vincent Van Duysen.
