What if the escape from the Fuorisalone was the Fuorisalone itself? Muji, the Japanese brand of accessible yet responsible design, thought that taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the city during the Fuorisalone events could be both an opportunity for rest and reflection on the meaning of design.
So it imagined a mini-house-manifesto that sums up the Muji approach to living. It was designed by French studio 5∙5, founded by designers Claire Renard and Jean-Sébastien Blanc, recognised pioneers of upciclyng. In the structure, every element has been designed with comfort, ingenuity and environmental responsibility in mind, through the choice of bio-based materials, the rainwater recovery system, recycled fabric insulation, and the white roof to reduce heat islands. For this space, 5∙5 decided not to design any new objects: through a series of ingenious diversions, the designers hacked into the brand's most iconic products, obtaining new ones.

All this has been created to reflect the values of Muji, a brand that since the 1980s has been committed to more responsible consumption and design that focuses on quality and durability.
Located in the hidden Pippa Bacca garden in the Brera district, away from the hustle and bustle of the most eagerly awaited week for design enthusiasts, the mini house will be open to visitors from Tuesday 8 to Sunday 13 April.
