IKEA, in collaboration with rehoming center Woodgreen Pets Charity, unveiled a new pet range, Utsådd, a pet collection composed of 29 pieces focused on the four most common activities that cats and dogs do at home eating, sleeping, playing, and hiding. “Our goal was to develop a collection of products that our cats and dogs love and that their human parents can feel good about and truly enjoy having as part of their home,” says IKEA commercial manager Michaela Quinlan. This is not the brand's first collection dedicated to pets: in the past Lurvig, developed with “by pet-loving designers and trained veterinarians”, was launched.

The products – rattan cat and dog beds, scratching posts, blankets, pet bowls, and patterned soft toys – are being showcased in two catalogs, the “Cat-alogue” and the “Dog-alogue” and have been photographed with animals from the rehoming center. “We hope this partnership not only raises awareness of adoptions but also provides solutions and inspiration of how to create a comfortable living space for furry companions,” Quinlan continued. The collection, in fact, also aims to support the charity’s mission to provide shelter for the animals, following a 62 percent increase in abandoned pets at the rehoming center in 2023.
