Coachella is back, this year with its largest art installations ever

The artistic program of the 2024 edition of Coachella, curated by Paul Clemente, aims to redefine the boundaries of large-scale art, inviting festival participants to interact with immersive and visionary works created by internationally renowned artists, architects, and designers, which challenge visitors to question their definition of self, exploring the boundary between reality and imagination, thanks to the convergence of art, architecture, and technology.

“Monarchs: A House in Six Parts” by HANNAH explores the intersection between 3D printing and traditional craftsmanship, presenting a series of pavilions. The installation, born from a collaboration between Cornell University professors Leslie Lok and Sasa Zivkovic, reimagines architectural design through the lens of digital fabrication and organic inspiration. “Dancing in the Sky” by Morag Myerscough celebrates the joy of collective and shared experiences with a cheerful, vibrant square full of colors and rich in geometries. “Babylon” by Nebbia offers a study of contrasts, mixing ancient architectural forms with elements with a futuristic flavor. The work, by London-based architects Brando Posocco and Madhav Kidao, is a monumental structure that serves as a visual reference point and as a sanctuary of shadow and light, inviting contemplation.
