has been named for the twelfth time the “best airport in the world”, this time in the list “World Airport Awards 2023”, published by the air transport research firm Skytrax.
International travellers from more than 100 different countries took part in the survey, evaluating airports based on different factors, including transfers, security and immigration, check-in, arrivals, catering and shopping.
Singapore’s Changi Airport had previously won first place in Skytrax’s annual ranking for eight consecutive years, from 2013 to 2020. Doha’s Hamad International Airport this year came in second, followed by Tokyo’s Haneda Airport in third and Incheon International Airport in fourth. Japan had two airports in the top 10 this year, with Narita International Airport coming in ninth. Other top spots were filled by the main airports in Paris (5th), Istanbul (6th), Munich (7th) and Zurich (8th), and Spain’s Madrid-Barajas Airport (10th).
