Yesterday was announced the summer program for the reopening scheduled for today, with a new green space that redesigns the curtain, the Chimney Garden. Together with a second opening of the exhibition “La Meraviglia”, where are on display works by Davide D’Amelio, Anna Dormio, Bekhbaatar Enkhtur, Esma Ilter, Giulia Poppi and Negar Sh – the six artists who took part in the second edition of the Residenze d’Artista – and “Aria in Manifattura” curated by Tomás Saraceno, the new appointment of TOAST Project Space with the solo show by Marcello Spada curated by Gabriele Tosi will also be inaugurated. Throughout the next week a series of appointments, talks, shows and concerts will animate the garden.
“The pandemic, besides making us pay a very high price in terms of human lives, has annihilated and tried to extinguish the voice of culture in Italy” declares Tommaso Sacchi, Councillor for Culture of the City of Florence. “Almost four months later we can say that it has not succeeded and little by little museums, exhibition spaces, libraries, artists and shows try to flourish again. We are glad that the Manifattura Tabacchi is among them and that Florence, together with the creativity of international artists, is starting again stronger than before”.
