Beosound Balance is the wireless speaker designed by Benjamin Hubert of LAYER studio for Bang & Olufsen. The Danish brand created a cylinder with a solid oak-wood base and a knitted-textile cladding. The speaker can be controlled manually thanks to a hidden touch interface that lights up with light-through aluminium technology when someone is appraching. The top plate is used to control volume, change tracks and select listening experiences, but user can also play music and check news without using hands when wi-fi is on.  

Aiming to optimize the delivered sound in individual spaces through technologies, Beosound Balance is provided with two sound modes, an omni-directional mode for a uniform transmission of sound and a focused sound mode. Using low frequencies, Beosound Balance is able to analyse the room with an internal microphone and create a set of user defined filters.
