During Milano Design Week 2024, on April 16 at 5:00 PM, Domus and the Politecnico di Milano have organized an unprecedented event, a moment of meeting and debate with Lord Norman Foster, the 2024 guest editor of Domus and one of the most representative figures in the world of contemporary architecture. Foster will deliver a speech in the Aula Magna of the Milanese university dedicated to the future, a central theme in his vision, and then engage in dialogue with Walter Mariotti, Editorial Director of Domus, and Emilio Faroldi, PH.D. Vice-Rector of the Politecnico di Milano. The event is open to the public, upon free registration, and subject to availability of seats, and represents a unique opportunity for all enthusiasts and professionals, who will be able to listen live to the voice of one of the greatest masters of architecture and design.
“For 97 years, Domus has distinguished itself in the world for its ability to inspire and guide students, professionals, and the leadership class on the themes of design, architecture, and art, using them as keys to understanding the future of associated life and its developments. We are honored, therefore, to have as this year’s guest editor of Domus and as an exceptional mentor Lord Norman Foster, one of the most extraordinary personalities in the history of architecture and among the protagonists of knowledge in the 20th and 21st centuries. A man who in an incredible life and unreachable career has always been able to overcome limits, always arousing new curiosities and opening new horizons, especially in the young people who are building the world of tomorrow. Being able to share his vision of the future during Design Week, when Milan becomes the capital of the world, I believe is truly an unprecedented moment. And being able to do it in the heart of the Politecnico di Milano, welcomed by what, like Domus, is global excellence before being national, represents for all of us a reason for pride and a push for confrontation, growth, and learning of what we can do to live in a new world. Fairer, more inclusive, more sustainable, and perhaps even more beautiful,” Walter Mariotti declared.
