The TV set? Destined to disappear, it seems. Once the dominator of domestic life in the living room, the hearth of the electric age, TVs dropped the cathode ray tube becoming thinner and thinner, losing, along with the encumbrance, the centrality it had in the human lives of the second half of the twentieth century. Perhaps because it was replaced by smaller screens into which we dive the attention, perhaps because the idea of family and leisure has changed. In any case, TV brands have been proposing different ideas to take it out of our eyes for some years: Samsung with The Frame designed by Behar, a camouflage TV, LG instead rolls it up, Bang & Olufsen makes it disappear with a retrofuturistic mechanism in the speakers.

The Chinese brand Xiaomi joins The elite of tv brands, presenting the Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition, an ultra-thin OLED screen TV completely transparent when turned off, and where all the technology is concentrated in the round base rather than on the back. The device has the audio and video features of a top-of-the-range, custom MIUI interface, and has been presented for now in the 55" cut. Xiaomi entered the Chinese TV market seven years ago, which today dominates with over 10 million units sold per year.
