Louise Bourgeois

Gallery Studio Trisorio presents a selection of works by French-American artist Louise Bourgeois that have never been exhibited before, completed between 1940 and 2009.

“Voyages without a destination” is a retrospective exhibition on the work of the French-American artist Louise Bourgeois, at the Studio Trisorio in Naples, Italy.

On exhibit are four bronze sculptures and 34 drawings – half of which have never been exhibited before – executed by the artist between 1940 and 2009. The internationally renowned artist, Louise Bourgeois was born in Paris in 1911. Despite the fact that she lived in New York from 1938 until her death, she drew most inspiration from her early childhood in France and family relationships.

The works of Louise Bourgeois have been exhibited all over the world. Using the body as a primary form, she explored the entire range of human emotions. In her works, varying from drawings to large-scale installations, she explored themes such as memories, sexuality, love and abandonment thus giving form to her fears in order to exorcize them.
