Paper table

Arch Studio designed a maple wood and recycled paper table that serves for short naps and plays with the contrast between its soft, ondulating surface, and the hard core.

Han Wen-Qiang from Chinese firm Arch Studio, has turned the waste paper pulp into a solid material through a solidification treatment, creating a table top that has a strong and three-dimensional curved surface.

The core concept is the contrast between its visual soft impression and the inner hard character. The surface was excavated on place and functions as a nap table, thanks to its cotton-like finishing. The curves follow the body’s ergonomics and helps people bending over it. The materials used are recycled paper pulp and maple wood, with dimensions of 100 x 100 x 70 centimeters.
