After an artist residency in Morocco, Dutch designer Nicolette Brunklaus learned the technique of traditional tapestry hand knotting from the local crafts women whom she worked with in a small studio in the medina of Sefrou. At the Dutch Design Week 2016 she is presenting her interpretation with the series of Acoustic Tapestries.

The handmade Acoustic Tapestries, serve as sound panels showing the geometric abstractions of suggestive, architectural spaces in deep colors or geometrical lines. With its different structures and techniques the collection has an exclusive, timeless character. In combination with a series of digital-tufted designs made in The Netherlands, Nicolette Brunklaus will also show the research for this project.
