The Italian Alchemy

In a former chemistry lab in Ventura Scatto Italiano and Wafer Boards with the illustrator Matthew Morelli tell a story of craftsmanship and sustainability.

In a former chemical laboratory, at via Dei Canzi 14, Scatto Italiano and Wafer Boards staged during the Milan Design Week The Italian Alchemy.

Considering the similarities between the two brands – uniqueness, handmade, attention to details and work process 100% Made in Italy – they sum up a unique formula, The Italian Alchemy, the fusion between two different realities that have become common in product excellence, combining unusual elements and obtaining an original and refined effect.

To preserve the aura and the history of the place, the exhibition featured tools, chemicals furniture and illustrations by Matteo Morelli, whose main focus is to give new luster to a forgotten aesthetic, through the use of a contemporary language and irony.

Both brands are born to young Italian designers and craftsmen (average age 27), who decided to challenge their respective markets, with the design of high quality products, an artisan network and promoting sustainable lifestyles.

On April 16 The Italia Alchemy hosted the live performance Cadavre Exquis. The game is part of the surrealist automatism and random association
of elements, in which however seems to be an underground communication between participants. To implement the game during the evening there two Italian illustrators, Marco Goran Romano and Sarah Mazzetti alternated in explaining and customize a Scatto Italiano bicycle and Wafer Boards skate.
