Nendo+Nichetto: Kurage

#82 The new lamp by Nendo and Nichetto for Foscarini features a washi paper lampshade resting on slim ash supports that resemble lollypop sticks. #salone2015

Foscarini’s Kurage – jellyfish in Japanese – table lamp is the brainchild of Oki Sato (Nendo) and Luca Nichetto and features a luminous and poetic effect that conveys delicacy and sophistication. Kurage is the outcome of a search for lightness that shines through in every part of the design.

The base consists in four slender ash legs, resembling lollypop sticks, in a natural finish, their slender structure adding even more delicacy to the lamp. The shade is made out of handmade Japanese washi paper, produced from the fibres of the mulberry tree in a complex traditional process, and sits on the base with no need for a mount.
