The traditional sections are confirmed: Sguardi premieres of documentaries on the stories and protagonists contemporary art; Cinema d’artista; Festival Talks; Focus on; the 3rd edition of VISIO European Workshop on Artists’ Moving Images, to which the 1st edition of VISIO Residency Program has been added. These will be held at Cinema Odeon, and in several other local cultural institutions, such as Institut Français Firenze, Villa Romana, Le Murate Progetti Arte Contemporanea and Palazzo dell’Arte dei Giudici e Notai.
The Festival is included in the series “50 giorni di cinema internazionale a Firenze” organized by Fondazione Sistema Toscana.

Among this edition’s guests: Hito Steyerl, protagonist of Focus On, will conduct a lecture/performance at Cinema Odeon, followed by screenings of four of her films, selected from among her most recent producions: Liquidity (2014), How Not To Be Seen. A Fucking Didactic Educational. Mov File (2013), Guards (2012), Abstract (2012); Alain Fleischer, to whom an entire day will be dedicated, organized in collaboration with the Institut Français Firenze, in which he will present the Italian premiere of Naissance d’un musée, about the 2012 opening of the new Louvre-Lens Museum in the Pas-de-Calais region, northern France; artist Phillip Warnell will present Ming of Harlem, about the cohabitation of a man, a tiger and an alligator in an apartament on the 21st floor of a building in Harlem - the film won the Georges de Beauregard Prize at FID Marseille, 2014; Joseph Grima will hold a conversation at Le Murate. Progetti Arte Contemporanea, together with Giacomo Pirazzoli, on the video 99 Dom-Ino by the Space Caviar collective.
The video, which will be shown at Le Murate throughout the festival, documents the impact of the residential architecture project Dom-Ino, published by Le Corbusier in 1914, on the Italian landscape: from the post-war boom to the ambitious residential and public architecture of the 1970s, to the rise of private real estate corporations in the 1980s; Marine Hugonnier with Apicula Enigma, a poetic film in which the French artist, fascinated by the magical world of bees and their micro-utopian work communities, tries to show how natural images can be represented as narrative stories.
