Starting from the generating staminate cell of a simplified master plan of the airport, a coherent language to the entire identity was ensured. Designers took inspiration from traditional arabesque decoration to create the basic alphabet for everything.
By turning the simplified plan around a center with different angles and points of rotation, they generated a multitude of grids for the distinctive pictogram set and for all the patterns that identify all the different spaces of the airport.
Studio FM milano worked side by side with the architect team of Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel & Partners, that designed all the interiors of the lounges and activity nodes.
