The structure consists of a gently sloping landscape, recalling the natural slopes of the German countryside, an open access area, and inside, a themed exhibition.
The stylized plants that sprout like "saplings of ideas" pierce through the base of the pavilion to emerge, grow and extend, to form a large canopy for visitors that connects the indoors with the outdoors. Organic forms create a fertile breeding ground for ideas.
Even the structure of the pavilion acts as an exhibit of creative and sustainable solutions for the future: modern design blends with traditional materials, with rational use of space and resources, technology and intelligent design. Local timber is the main material and denotes a mindful use of renewable resources. The façade that provides natural ventilation is part of a choice in favor of energy-efficiency that ensures comfortable temperatures everywhere.
Each visitor is given a mobile device – a seed board – with which to discover new details in an intelligent and interactive way while walking along paths between land, water, climate and biodiversity. The materials illustrate projects under way, solutions that have been implemented, and ideas and insights that help us imagine what can be done to protect them for the future. Finally, the visitor comes to the exhibition of ideas for food, with which they can interact in a very inventive way – through the seed board and with the eyes of two bees.
There are three ways to enjoy the traditions of German agricultural food: an open access area dedicated to tasting, a special gourmet restaurant with fine dining and a restaurant that reflects Germany’s Gemütlichkeit, the expression of its utmost and warmest hospitality.
