Nendo has made its own Su design aesthetic and used it in its work with Emeco.
The Su Collection is based on a meticulous approach to design and the use of new materials for the seats: solid oak salvaged from old American buildings and worked for the Emeco chairs by Amish artisans from Pennsylvania; eco-concrete (50% bottles in recycled glass and CSA, calcium sulphoaluminate); recycled polyethylene (made 75% from post-industrial material and 25% post-consumption material). Emeco’s traditional material, recycled aluminium, is used to make the legs of the SU chairs with a natural or black-anodised finish.
“After about two years work – explains Oki Sato – we are proud to present a stool that is closely linked to the Navy Chair. For us it is definitely ‘the’ stool”.
