The world HHD is developing with the project of the 4x4m modular habitat cell called H16, in collaboration with Dogtrot, is “indispensable” and ecosustainable. The term “habitat” is no random choice: H16 envisions concrete habitat uses for this product. The H16 system is based on skillful composition of standardized parts, selected from the range to respond to considerations regarding climate, exposure to sunlight, functional needs, available resources and the desires of the client. The typological characteristics of H16, based on HHD’s experience, take climate conditions, as well as the most simple, natural human habits and aspirations, into account: light, air, greenery, landscape. Volumetric sizing is directly related to expectations of activities and functions, including service zones and spaces for wellbeing. Technological features like the special corners, concealed bolts and the geometric design of the framework contribute to achieve good construction results, organizing the spaces in terms of precise choices of affordability, simplicity and rationality in the use of materials and labor. The strength of the H16 concept lies in its prefabricated architecture system. The enclosure, or skin, mediates the relationship with the site. Research on the flexible basic cell that gradually grows in successive additions demonstrates a concept oriented toward a project conceived over time, not necessarily completed in an initial intervention, but developed in infinite successive interpretations. The first to interpret the excellence of the system is Aldo Cibic, who starting with the project “Microrealities” shown at the Venice Biennial in 2004 has never stopped conducting research and designing with system, inspired by creativity that facilitates thinking about a life of quality capable of adapting to new realities.

Violetta is a small house, 4x4m, whose outer walls are faced with bas-relief stucco. It is composed of a kitchen, a living area with a sofa-bed, a bedroom with two bunk beds and a bathroom. The composition also features a deck with frontal verandah and a special “inhabitable” roof that adds space for outdoor living. Ideal for four persons.

Calla: of the three units, this is undoubtedly the most suitable for commercial use. Covered with corrugated sheet aluminium on the outside, it has two levels, with a flat terrace roof with a mobile shelter, creating a pleasant outdoor living area.

Margherita, both inside and outside, with a green double-pitch roof, is composed of a large kitchen with a central living area, leadi to a spacious verandah, two bedrooms and a bathroom. A residential unit for six persons.
