In Confetti section, through interviews with six guests from different fields, we try to comprehend the reborn City from diverse perspectives, aiming to fully figure out the inner core of cultural revival. To attain the subtle balance between the new city and the old one, architects from CCTN Design put up an idea of "weaving ", which run through the whole design phase and successfully harmonized the landscape with its cultural connotation. Numerous activities and events held in Lion City, including "The Poetic Traces in Qiandao Lake" exhibition and a series of workshops for arts and crafts teaching, together breathe life into the ancient city that had once been totally flooded.
Further, this issue features an extra section, in which we introduce the evolution of Italian design from 1928 to 2016, and also give an overview on the development of China's industrial design since last century. Another special topic we cover is the Design Intelligence Award (DIA) established by China Academy of Art in 2015, which is the first international industrial design award set up in mainland China and serves as a platform for collaborative innovations combining art, technology and business.
In parallel, we continue presenting the best of Domus at an international level, especially in this issue, by selecting remarkable writings, drawings and images from Domus 1000.
