Maurizio Ambrosini (Vercelli 1956) teaches Sociology of Migration at the University of Milan. He has also taught for several years at the University of Nice. He is the scientific head of the Medì Study Centre in Genoa, where he directs the magazine 'Mondi migranti' (Migrant Worlds) and the Summer School of Sociology of Migration. From July 2018 to 2023 he was a member of CNEL, where he was in charge of the coordination body for integration policies.

He is the author, among other books, of Sociologia delle migrazioni (third edition 2020), and (with L. Sciolla) Sociology, textbooks adopted in several Italian universities. His articles and essays have appeared in journals and publications in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Chinese.
