Inspired by memories of childhood summers spent on his patio, Valerio Sommella has designed the first outdoor living room for the Dutch brand Moooi, suitable for both residential and contract spaces. It is called Barani and includes a lounge set and a bistro one consisting of seats, coffee table, table and cushions.

Made of metal, the collection is designed to withstand bad weather, including winter, and is characterised by the curved element as a pivot and aesthetic detail. The distinctive features are therefore both functional and decorative, just like the armrest of the seats, and are the result of “a technical solution becomes a three-dimensional scribble”, as Valerio Sommella himself says. A true continuum of the home, it is an open-air living room where you can enjoy moments of tranquillity.

Visual harmony and aesthetic
Now, more than ever, interior design is a balance of form and function, a dialogue between architecture, materials and finishes that transform and make the most of the space involved.
