With the Urbet Ego, electric mobility meets steampunk design

With an unusual retro-futuristic design, the Ego is the perfect e-scooter to drive in a dystopian apocalyptic world—or in the city.

Spanish electric mobility company Urbet has launched the Ego, a crossover between an electric moped and a motorbike with an aggressive steampunk design.
The Ego looks big in the pictures, but it’s actually quite compact and lightweight (72Kg). The 3000 Watt battery under the hood offers a range of 120Km on a single charge (7 hours on average), while the max-speed is 90km/h.

What really sets Ego apart, though, is the bold and brutal design, with a monolithic central body attached to two hubless wheels and a suspended saddle.
Despite its Mad Max look, the Ego is not conceived as a speed monster to drive in a post apocalyptic desert. Instead, it’s more of a scooter for city dwellers that’s easy to drive and steer, making it a great ally against city traffic. It even sports a speaker that is synchronized with the throttle handle to emit the noise of a real motorbike for the safety of pedestrians. The Ego is available from Urbet’s website, with a starting price of  2480€.
