A table dedicated to the coral reef

Sergey Makhno Architects and design studio Kofta designed a table inspired by the coral habitat of the oceans that could probably disappear in the next 30 years.

Obitovana 5019 is the furniture and accessories collection designed by Sergey Makhno Architects with design studio Kofta. The series Coral Reef includes a table without tabletop, a cold floor lamp and a warm one, a sofa-shell, a carpet-puzzle and two flourishing bags-flowers. These are named like extincting natural elements, such as melted glaciers or butterflies, trying to bring them to life again.

Inspired by the bad conditions of coral habitats – that might disappear in the next 30 years, Coral Reef imitates the shape and the color of oceanic coral reef with two scarlet ceramic plates replacing the tabletop. Plates are handmade and include four forms, while the table has three different versions, everyone conceived with a different number of plates.
