Italian designer Gio Tirotto will present his cutlery set No pause / Non Posate gli attrezzi! in rapid processed nylon at the Padiglione Italia exhibit during the 2012 Salone del Mobile.
The cutlery set plays with the notion of "working tools", which are inspired by the workshop. Mixing tools with the table set, it seems as if both these different objects wanted to change room, as if they wanted to describe something else.
"The shape increases the thinness between irony and etiquette, like a ritual that harmonizes imagination and function," says Tirotto. "Everyone is the artisan of his own dream, and carving a dream... has no pauses."
Padiglione Italia is a portrait of contemporary Italian design, showcasing new work by nine upcoming design studios. The show seeks to break the stereotypes of fixed presentations proposing
works based on meticulous research with a particular attention to quality.
