Casa Lavezzari arises from a trapezium-shaped lot formed by two roads departing like spokes from Piazza Morbegno. Terragni and Lingeri designed two narrow buildings with four to six stories that converge on the roundabout.
The facade on Piazza Morbegno is only nine metres wide. Two tall, solid planes of sanded cement frame a deep, vertical recess with projecting balconies.
The staircase is positioned on the inner corner of the “V”, illuminated from the courtyard by a tall, narrow strip of glass bricks.
Along the symmetrical sides of the two sections, the ground floor is given over to shops, with the storefronts originally surmounted by strips of glass bricks. The above-lying storeys are each divided into two or three apartments.
The apartments open onto the outside with markedly horizontal windows, surmounted by window-like aeration strips close to the ceiling, under each balcony.
