Milan is a city in which the myth of the modern and the continuous rush towards the future seems to be engraved in the essence of its inhabitants and its spaces. Since Boccioni painted the famous The City Rises, the Lombard capital appears to have never stopped. With an ever greater drive, as if to challenge the ongoing crises of the contemporary world, the city has been able to transform itself and reinvent its image in the last two decades.
Not without criticism or unresolved questions, a growing number of projects are dotting contemporary Milan, welcoming more and more ‘designer objects’ from the prominent archistars. Here, the designers try to trace the Milanese character or insert a new international element in the design capital.
Milan thus finds itself always new, never identical to itself, in a continuous roaring transformation.
