Marrakech, a contemporary villa inspired by Berber graphism

The architect Alex Romano has designed in the Moroccan city a single-family villa, characterized by essential geometry. The monochromatic volume of red plaster, typical of the city of Marrakech, is interrupted by vertical lines of anthracite color in reference to the graphic themes of Berber carpets.

The brick masonry walls are fragmented by large glass surfaces in correspondence of the living area. The latter, in relation to the Berber way of life, is characterized by a spatial continuity of environments, in order to facilitate the leisure activities and reception through continuous flows from the entrance of the residence. In the large garden surrounding the western front, moreover, one can refresh oneself in the large swimming pool whose shape follows the design of the lot conferring compositional dynamism to the entire residence.
