The restaurant and cocktail bar Vyta Covent Garden opened recently in London, offers fine Italian food and views on the market square. Designed by Collidanielarchitetto studio, the bar is set in the East tower of Covent Garden market, participating to the revitalisation of an area destined to a cosmopolitan audience. Inspired by the Italian architectural culture of the Sixties, the interiors mix bright colors with lacquered surfaces and geometrical shapes. The space is organized on three floors including an outdoor area on the square and two terraces on the upper floor used as lounge bars. The lower floor has mantainted the original vaulted ceilings, while mirrored panels and details complete the rooms: engraved or embossed rhombuses run on the walls or in the marble floor, inspired by the works of Giacomo Balla. Rich patterns emerge from the materials’ surfaces, in the green Alpi marble surrounding the stairs, in the rosewood of the steps, in the golden walls finished by a corrugated texture. The bar area is bright thanks to golden and reflective tones emphasizig the space around. Omogeneous in its complex, the bar uses on the outside furniture the green colour recalling the market structure as a continuity mark. The space is organized in different private areas providing soft chairs and sofas covered by velvet, brass elements and thin lamps completed with spheric bulbs.
