Yoshiharu Tsukamoto on the evolution of Atelier Bow-Wow

In this interview, Yoshiharu Tsukamoto discusses the evolution of the thought and work of Atelier Bow-Wow, founded together with Momoyo Kaijima in 1992. Tsukamoto explains some of the key ideas that guide the practice of the office, through projects and publications, in conjunction with teaching and research. In particular, the concepts of behaviorology and architectural ethnography deal with the theme of human ecology, in the city as well as more remote places. These observations have become a structural part of their work.

Shot in Alvaro Siza’s Faculty of Architecture at the University of Porto, this interview is part of the series resulting from the collaboration between Domus and Porto Academy. Since 2013, the summer school Porto Academy fuels the passion for architecture through an experience open to architects and students from all over the world. The 2018 edition took place from the 20th until the 27th of July, and makes no exception.
