Atelier Ordinaire designs a prefabricated and “passive” house (the second) in Burgundy, entirely made of wood and eco-friendly. The interior is warm, and the house is in symbiosis with the environments that surround it. Only the floor is concrete. The heating system is not complex because the structure is well insulated, thanks to the precise positioning of the windows, which has been calculated to ensure that the heat offered by the sun is enough. In the winter months the whole house is heated by the fireplace in the living room, and the chimney manages to spread heat to the upper floor, so that no energy is wasted. For the exteriors it has been used a special water-resistant paint with iridescent color that is gray or brown and does not disturb the nature of the surroundings. The wooden furniture that furnishes the spaces is Stattmann Neue Moebel, a German brand that shares with Atelier Sorting the same attention to sustainability.
