Located upon the green Parella hill, close to Ivrea in Italy, Archisbang designed the renovation of an old eclectic mansion, traforming it into the new Chemsafe headquarter.
The scope of work is the refurbishment of an old eclectic mansion, located upon the green Parella hill (close to Ivrea), and its transformation into the new Chemsafe headquarter. The overall goal of this projects is to highlight both the qualities of the company and the people involved in its activity.
Thanks to the 360 degree panorama enjoyable from there and to the relaxing natural atmosphere, the site immediately reveals its positive aspects. However, it is not easy to enjoy them, because of the traditional shape of the oldest building and the several incoherent enlargements that progressively enclosed it during time.
Archisbang’s project aims to define a flowing space, which, starting from the outside volumes, winds up inside the body of the tower with a concrete structure clearly recognizable, characterized by a new composition of the floor levels, shifted up and down at different heights. Parts of the new staircase move through spaces marked out by double and three time the standard height, creating new points of view both on the internal space and to the awesome landscape around, beyond the window and the private garden.
The architectural route ends on the loft floor, in front of the dormer’s frame, the only element breaking the shape of the old tower in order to offer a new view of the panorama, a glance for the outside observer of what inside happens.
