It was 1963 when Mario Pedrali founded an artisan workshop in Palazzolo sull'Oglio, a town in the province of Brescia. Here he began producing the first collections of wrought iron outdoor seating and laid the foundations for the creation of a company that, under the leadership of the second generation, Monica and Giuseppe, would become one of the most recognised of Made in Italy design, today counting 340 collaborators and boasting an innovative automated warehouse designed by the prestigious CZA - Cino Zucchi Architetti. 2023 therefore marks an important anniversary for Pedrali: 60 years since the company was founded. The first act in the celebration of this milestone was Pedrali's presence at the Salone del Mobile.Milano, with a stand of over 900 square metres entitled #PedraliBacktoNature designed by the Milan-based DWA Design Studio. #PedraliBacktoNature – the company's 34th participation at the Salone del Mobile – recounted the company's evolution and its entire journey, which began with outdoor collections but has evolved over the years to include products for indoor use. In the fluid layout of the stand, indoor and outdoor follow each other, becoming an extension of the other and highlighting the importance of the connection between the domestic and natural environment. Nature, typically conceived in the outdoor environment, integrates here with the indoor environment, becoming an architectural sign.

Among the new products presented is Anemos, designed by Pio & Tito Toso: a table characterised by simple, architectural forms. Its distinguishing feature is the base, formed by two concrete shells separated from each other and fixed to the top which, like a structural membrane, are freed from their imaginary weight and, thanks to a double curvature, assume a flexible and sinuous shape. Designed by CMP Design, Guinea is an aluminium outdoor armchair that suggests an idea of physical and visual as well as iconic lightness. A distinguishing feature of Guinea are the armrests made of teak, an element that interrupts the aluminium structure by introducing a living detail, pleasant to the touch, that does not get hot in the sun and does not get cold in winter. Frank is a table designed by Robin Rizzini inspired by architectural forms and industrial materials. Rational lines and curves together contribute to conveying an image of lightness and contemporaneity at the same time. The Lamorisse Wood armchair (designed by CMP Design) takes up the silhouette of the aluminium version designed in 2022, differing in the material. The structure, characterised by a round section armrest in steam-curved ash wood into which the legs are grafted, accommodates a generous and enveloping soft cushion. It is made of 100% FSC® C114358-certified wood and painted with water-based paints of vegetable origin. Narì is the result of a new collaboration with designer Andrea Pedrali who wanted to pay homage to his grandfather Mario Pedrali, founder of the company, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2023. A seat that takes some of the elements of the first wrought iron garden chairs from the Pedrali collection of the 1960s, reinterpreting them in a contemporary key thanks to the use of traditional techniques and knowledge combined with new industrial technologies.
