Exploring all the territories of the design world – from interior design to exhibition layouts, from communication to urban planning – with a multidisciplinary attitude that combines the contributions of the humanistic and artistic culture with those of the technical-scientific culture: this approach is at the basis of the work of the Roberto Bertoli Architetto studio. Among the essential influences for the Brescian architect and his young team is the US artist Sol Lewitt: “In the first of his Sentencies, the founder of American Minimalism emphasised that subtle and sometimes invisible red thread that unites rigorous design with the experience of the transcendent, understood as the ability to go beyond the order and rigour of calculation through the progressive reduction of form to its essentials. The return to the origin. The geometric absolute. From these premises, synthetically, our way of understanding and working with space, architecturally, develops,” says Bertoli.

"In our constructions, the fundamentals of Western thought are translated into the rectangle, which is then transformed into a parallelepiped in the volumes that are decomposed, assembled and associated with each other. Space is shaped through volumetric cuts and decompositions that follow the flows and paths of the user inside the building. Thus, architectures take shape in dialogue with the Minimalist and Hard Edge poetics of the United States. Natural light, skilfully guided, draws unexpected plays of light and dark. Just as in the residential and corporate projects realised, where materials dialogue with advanced creativity," the architect continues. This philosophy, however, is never imposed, but always follows a path of research and interpretation of the places with which it is confronted and with the needs of the users; at the same time, the design work is measured against the continuous change of needs and resources in a close dialogue with the sedimentary values in the contexts.
