When Milan Design Week arrives, true connoisseurs already know which showrooms are not to be missed and which novelties to discover. Among the elite of companies capable of astonishing every edition there is undoubtedly UniFor, which last year saw the great success of its ARCHIVIOUNIFOR reissue project.

For the Fuorisalone 2022, the company – specialised in contemporary office design – presents a new collection, PRINCIPLES, developed together with one of the most relevant architectural practices of the last 50 years: the studio OMA, founded by Rem Koolhaas.

The collection presentation at MDW2022 concludes a research journey that began in 2018, when the studio and the company started a close dialogue and designed ad hoc furniture for the common and lounge areas of the Axel Springer media campus in Berlin.

The collection consists of over one hundred elements, in different sizes: S, M, L, XL (referring to the famous book published by Koolhaas and Bruce Mau in 1995) and organised by families.

Linear and circular partition panels connect to form reserved corners for privacy and moments of concentration, or semi-reserved areas for meeting and discussion. Circular sofas and soft, cosy upholstered islands encourage more informal interaction. High-tech materials, integrated lighting, soundproofing and wiring for connectivity complete the proposal.

The furniture can be freely configured, adapting to collective and individual work contexts – and all the shades in between. PRINCIPLES consists of objects that can be used at any time and by anyone, and interpret the freedom and flexibility that characterise contemporary work.
