Lissoni & Partners signs the Atlas Concorde showroom in Milan

Located in the exclusive Brera Design District, the new showroom of the Italian company showcases its ceramic surfaces as works of art.

The new Atlas Concorde showroom could only be born in Brera – the first district of Italian design and the very heart of Milanese creativity. The Made in Italy company, which is an international reference in the high-end ceramic wall tiles and surfaces sector, arrives in the global capital of design after opening spaces in some of the world's most renowned destinations: Dubai, Moscow, London, Paris and Lyon. The showroom is designed by Lissoni&Partners, a studio capable of combining an international vision with the Milanese context. This site-specific approach will guide the future construction of new exhibition spaces around the world.

“Atlas Concorde’s project – says Piero Lissoni – was born around two special elements. First of all, the showroom is located in a historic building in the centre of Milan and we wanted to respect what we had at our disposal: the walls and old floors, the frescoes and other typical elements of this 18th century building. The second aspect, instead, is that of wanting to tie a hyper-industrial company to an artistic model.” “The products, characterised by a great attention to aesthetics and trends in living, are treated like the surfaces of an artist using a new language. This model can then be exported all over the world and Atlas Concorde’s ‘galleries’ will be adapted to the location, so the showroom in Paris will be different from the one in London or New York, to take its spirit and sensitivity each time,” says the Italian designer.

The space is divided into three zones: an exhibition gallery, conceived as a museum archive, with large sliding panels that modulate the space in various ways; a lounge area, where customers are welcomed; a coworking area, dedicated to co-design and discussion of projects. A second exhibition space is intended for temporary exhibitions, to show the potential of Atlas Concorde products through projects or installations. “For Atlas Concorde, which has its roots in the heart of the Italian Ceramic District,” says CEO Maurizio Mazzotti, “being in Milan means being in a meeting place with interior design trends and being able to feed off contamination with its protagonists, gather feedback and experiment with new approaches.” Atlas Concorde’s new Milan showroom is a gathering place for the various figures who revolve around the world of design: architects, designers and general contractors will be able to learn about the potential of the company’s collections and receive the advice they need to find the most appropriate solutions for their projects.
