Linear is the frame by Protek that merges technology and design

This line of counterframes for sliding doors designed to eliminate any use of doorpost and covering profile welcomes the new features revealed at the BAU in Munich.

At BAU, the trade fair for architecture, materials and systems, taking place every two years in Munich, Germany, Protek revealed a preview of the new additions to Linear, a line of counterframes for sliding doors designed to eliminate the use of doorposts and covering profiles. The new pieces of this collection, characterized by a high level of technology and design, have been designed to broaden the range of solutions offered for indoor spaces: Linear® FiloSoffitto, Linear® FiloBattuta, Linear® CoverColor, and Magic Box® Linear.

Giovanni Maggioni, CEO of Protek explains: “Certainly, being present at an international event like BAU, which garners interest from the entire European area, is very important. It is one of the must-attend fairs because it has a very practical approach towards clients, it mostly consists of specialists of the industry, and it guarantees great satisfaction and results.”

The new Linear® FiloSoffitto kit was designed to allow the track to be installed flush with the false ceiling, thanks to the full integration of the transom into the false ceiling or at height jumps, which makes it a perfect match for the Linear® FiloBattuta kit, which integrates the rebate post with the plasterboard wall. Linear® CoverColor is the anodized aluminum profile kit available in a range of finishes that makes creating a minimal frame at the doorway possible, protecting in this way the wall edges and finishing the skirting board header and the ceramic tiles. Lastly, the Linear® Magic Box® counterframe line was presented, in order to overcome the difficulties presented by implementing sliding solutions near electric outlets. The collection is available in three different variants: Magic Box Linear Elektro for electric utilities, Magic Box Linear Hydra for water utilities, and Magic Box Linear Domotika for both electric and water utilities.

The new additions to the Linear collection are the result of a major redesign process of Protek’s offer, keeping sustainability issues in mind. “In the past four years, we completely redesigned our products, from both a technological and material point of view, and our production site: it has been a necessary path of development and qualitative growth. To prove our commitment towards a lower environmental impact, we obtained the ISO 14001 environmental management system certification, a voluntary international standard that specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that protects and preserves the environment. Protek is now a zero-emission company: we integrated a new 3,000-square-meter industrial hub entirely built with Italcementi panels patented to absorb CO2 and we’ve equipped the headquarters with photovoltaic panels that can produce around one megawatt of electricity per day.”
