Roll-out table

Tired of adding tables when friends and family would come over, Norwegian designer Marcus Voraa conceived a roll-out table that spans from 1.5 to 4 meters long.

Marcus Voraa, student at the KHiO University in Oslo, designed a table meant for individual work or bigger social gatherings.
His @ Roll-out table concept was born after too many trips to the cellar to fetch extra tables when friends and family would unexpectedly pop into his house.

The roll out-technique came together with the idea of flexibility. “Instead of trying to hide the extra table top, I wanted to showcase it as a statement”, he explains. Most important of all was that the adjustments of the table could be done easily, and no extra parts needed.

The length of the table can be adjusted by sliding the end of the table out and letting the tamber table-top follow. The steel crank on the side of the table is used to retract the table, to shorten it. The front pair of the table legs divides into three and can be pulled out like a telescope-technique. The table is made of beech with a beewax treated surface, steel and canvas. It can roll out form 1.5 to 4 meters and is 74 cm high.
